Local Subdivision Update (January 2011)

Your local subdivision update

WAIKATO DISTRICT: Proposed new rules mean the chance to subdivide two lifestyle blocks may be almost over.  You will need over 6ha and you will only get one lifestyle block – Move now without delay!

WAIPA DISTRICT: Draft Proposed Plan stops ‘long association’ lifestyle blocks and surplus house blocks.  The 25ha minimum for rural blocks could become 40ha.  Be informed and take action now!

HAURAKI DISTRICT: Future minimum lot size means you will need 80ha to subdivide and lifestyle blocks will disappear on the plains as will new lots for surplus houses.  We can still get approval under the ‘old rules’ so don’t delay!

WESTERN BAY DISTRICT: Rural subdivision still allowed when protecting bush or wetland areas as in many other areas.  The Environment Court may reduce minimum areas for horticulture blocks.  Watch!

THAMES COROMANDEL:  No change yet …. Watch this space!

MATAMATA PIAKO: No change yet …. Watch this space!
